In the middle of the 1910s, the urban area of dalat was formed and gradually became a popular resort center for French governmental officials and the rich French people in Indochina.

Among the 1930s, due to its beautiful and romantic scenes, Governor-general of Indochina – Mr. Varenne and a lot of French couples usually came to this valley for sightseeing and exchanging confidences on weekends. Therefore, the French called it Vallée D’amour, meaning the Valley of Love.
Until 1953, Mr. Nguyen Vy, the chairman of Da Lat at that time suggested changing all the French names of lakes and streets in Da Lat City into Vietnamese names. Then, the name Valley of love (Thung lung Tinh Yeu) appeared, which exists till today. The name – Valley of Love also means the love for nature and country.

What to see here
Love Valley is surrounded by a lot of other deep valleys and endless pine forests being green all year round. Especially, the tranquil Da Thien Lake, which was built in 1972, also add a great deal to the attraction of the valley.
Just following the natural tracks and staircase all around the valley, you will reach the gorgeous flower gate and stunning statues. At the entrance, you will come across the image of two pairs of hands exchanging rings, then a statue of couples affectionate to each other, or even benches symbolizing well-match couples. The scenery inside is so romantic and poetic with hills of colorful flowers, green trees, and tiny paths.

Covering 242 hectares, Love Valley is also an ideal place for those who love picnicking and camping. Poetic landscapes plus melodious sounds of the pine forest in the wind, and the 13-hectare Da Thien Lake make the scene more stunning and picturesque. Most visitors feel excited to hire boats to hang around on Da Thien Lake, then move to Mimosa Stream to admire beautiful mimosa flowers.

Moreover, if you are interested in discovering and conquering the height, you can go trekking or hike a car riding to Vong Canh Hill. Crossing through zigzag paths to come to Vong Canh, visitors will admire a panoramic view of Love Valley full of pine trees and beautiful flowers, including majestic Langbiang peaks. You can also buy original souvenirs and perfume of over 100 types on Vong Canh. Leaving this charming hill, tourists can take a walk around the valley and visit souvenir shops to select the favorite gifts.
